Press Release

New Court Remote Appearance System and Scheduling Platform

The Nevada County Superior Court is pleased to announce the availability of a new remote appearance system developed by CourtCall. Effective April 15th, the Remote Court Scheduler and CourtCall Video replaced Zoom for all remote court proceedings.

This new remote appearance process will make remote appearances easier and more effective for both the consumer and the court.  The new scheduling system and video platform were developed specifically for remote court appearances and enable parties to independently schedule a remote appearance.

“Remote access to the court is a critical aspect of the service we provide to the community,” Court Executive Officer Laila Waheed said. “Improving the way parties are able to schedule and appear remotely before the court is one way we are working to meet the needs of the public we serve.”

Where authorized by statute, rule of court and court orders, remote appearances allow people to participate in court hearings without the burden of travel, taking significant time off work, or arranging for childcare.

To participate remotely, parties should check the requirements for their case and hearing on the court’s website on the Remote Hearings page. After providing notice as required by California Rule of Court, rule 3.672 and Code of Civil Procedure section 367.75, parties will be able to schedule their remote appearance online, receive a link to connect to the court hearing and appear in court.

Instructions on how to register for the Remote Court Scheduler, schedule appearances, and utilize the video platform features are available on the court’s website. The video platform will include enhanced live support via CourtCall’s help line.
