Case Information resides on our Web Portal. You can look up information about court cases, traffic citations, or get the current court calendar for any chosen day. If you are interested in making credit card payments please visit our Pay Fines & Fees page.
The purpose of this system is to provide the ability to research and locate matters in the Nevada County Superior Court, and create an online account to view your electronic case file for existing cases in the County of Nevada.
The most current filings may or may not be in the system. While the court strives to ensure accuracy of the information it provides, the court recognizes that on occasion errors occur. Thus, the court encourages anyone seeking to rely on this information to verify it by checking any court paperwork or notice that you may have. Use of the information contained in the Court's Online Portal is the user’s responsibility.

Criminal - Portal Submissions
Filing documents electronically in Criminal cases is done through electronic submission in the court's Portal.
Justice Partners and parties to Criminal and Juvenile cases may submit documents for filing on the court's Portal. Exceptions to electronic filing pursuant to Local Rule of Court are available here.

Yes, to search for public case information or view documents if you are a party on a case, an account is required. Cases that are currently publicly searchable are Family, Probate, Civil, Criminal, and Traffic. Online document access is governed by California Rules of Court rule 2.503. For step by step instructions, please refer to our Creating a Portal Account guide.
Once you’ve created an account you will receive an account activation email. Follow the instructions provided in the account activation email. If you have not received your account activation email, check your SPAM/JUNK mailbox to verify it did not end up there.
To view documents if you are a party or an attorney on a case, submit a request here. The form will then send you an email that will request TWO (2) forms of ID if you are a party on the case or ONE (1) if you are an attorney on the case. Due to court capacity, it may take some time to process your case access request. If you are not an attorney or party on a case, you can view documents at our public kiosks located in each courthouse or request case access online.
Documents may only be submitted on a criminal and juvenile cases by individuals who have already requested case access online and registered an access token with their Portal Account. Once registered with token access on a case, utilize the "Add Document" button at the bottom of the "Documents" tab on that case to submit documents.
