Reduced In-Person Services Notice

In person service will be significantly reduced in light of the guidelines issued by Nevada County Public Health, California Department of Public Health, the Governor, the Center for Disease Control, and the White House. Reductions of in person service are intended to increase the ability of the court to comply with social distancing guidelines that have been distributed, mainly maintaining 6ft of physical separation. The court is asking all members of the public to utilize remote options to interact with the court unless absolutely necessary. The court is recommending that all individuals reduce foot traffic to the court unless necessary. At the Nevada City Courthouse, one public counter will be made available for necessary in person transactions (like making a cash payment). To the extent possible, all filings should be made using a drop box, non-cash payments should utilize online or phone payment options as available, questions for clerk staff about court process should be directed to phone or email options.

The court asks that all individuals within the court maintain 6ft social distancing as much as possible when at any courthouse facility.
